  • Preserving the Hemlocks

FRIENDS is helping the National Park Service by funding research to eradicate the hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA), a tiny sucking insect that is decimating hemlock stands from New England to Georgia and South Carolina.

  • Environmental Education

FRIENDS provides Environmental Education to its members through its newsletter, High Vistas and its monthly enewsletter. High Vistas is dedicated to increased environmental education and awareness of the Blue Ridge Parkway and corridor.
